Picking Your Performance

There are three engines to consider when you begin looking at the specific Ford F-250 you want. Each is responsive and delivers ample power whether you're slowly making your way across a worksite or are trying to pass someone on the highway.

The 6.2L V8 is up first and generates 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. There's also the 7.3L V8 that makes 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

The most impressive in terms of raw output is the only diesel of the group, a 6.7L Power Stroke®, reaching 475 horsepower and a robust 1,050 lb-ft of torque.

Transmission pairings for the truck include a 6-speed automatic and a 10-speed automatic.

Maximum Towing and Payload

When you get down to working, the Ford F-250 is going to prove a valuable asset. Not only is the durability of this truck impressive, but you can rely on some hefty towing and payload figures overall.

With a conventional towing arrangement, the 2021 F-250 is able to reach a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds. If you go with either a 5th-wheel or gooseneck arrangement, that maximum towing figure rises to 22,800 pounds.

As for payload, the spacious bed of the truck can handle as much as 4,260 pounds.

Selecting Your Cab Size

There are three cab sizes offered with the 2021 Ford F-250, and a few variations for the length of the box: Regular, Super, and Crew.

The first is the Regular Cab, which features an 8-foot box and touts a 141.6-inch wheelbase. If you move up to the Super Cab, you can choose between a 6.75-foot box or an 8-foot box. The shorter box results in a 148-inch wheelbase, with the larger 8-foot box reaching 164.2 inches for the wheelbase.

Finally, the crew cab comes with either a 6.75-foot box and 159.8-inch wheelbase or an 8-foot box and a 176-inch wheelbase.
