Keeping up with your vehicle's recommended maintenance is the best way to ensure smooth and engaging performance while you navigate West Point, King William, and Williamsburg. The following Ford F-150 maintenance schedule lays out the various services this do-it-all truck will need as it moves from 5,000 miles to 50,000 miles to 100,000 miles.
The Ford F-150 is a particularly important model to keep maintaining if you hope to utilize its immense payload and towing capacities. West Point Ford is happy to provide any of the following services at our on-site facility, too!
Ford F-150 5,000-Mile Maintenance
As you begin to enjoy your Ford F-150 by towing and hauling everything in sight, you'll want to return to the shop for a quick inspection at 5,000 miles. With limited mileage on the odometer, this stop will be for the bare essentials that help the truck later in life.
What you can expect at this stage includes:
- Oil change
- Filter change
- Tire rotation
- Safety inspection
- Visual inspection of brakes, belts, and hoses
20,000-Mile Maintenance
The next time that your Ford F-150 will need to come into the shop for something other than the regular oil change or tire rotation is at the 20,000-mile marker.
At this stage, a few performance parts, mainly the brakes, will require an inspection and may need to be replaced. If you've been taxing your truck especially hard over the first 15,000 miles, you could also receive these services at that point.
The services include:
- Tire replacement
- Brake pad replacement
- Brake pad/rotor change
- Cabin filter replacement
Every 35,000 Miles
As you continue to climb and ultimately reach the 35,000-mile marker, your Ford F-150 will want to return to the shop for a dose of new medicine. The immense strength of this truck is generated from parts that you want to keep a close eye on, so the following service includes:
- Coolant replacement
- Drive belt replacement
- Auto transmission service
Every 50,000 Miles
Each facet of the vehicle is inspected to ensure the next 50,000 miles pass by as smooth as the first did.
At this point, your F-150 will receive inspections on the:
- Drive belts and hoses
- Motor mounts
- Suspension bushings
Every 75,000 Miles
The last mileage we'll be discussing is 75,000. Once you've hit this point, your truck will require a few new services to go along with the many that have already been discussed. As you venture past this mark, it's important to continue with routine care so your truck runs with the same capabilities even as it ages:
- Shock absorber replacement
- Strut replacement
- Spark plug replacement
